Julius Gilmour Jaunay 1852–1939

jaunay boysJulius (Jules) jaunay was the younger brother of Frank. Following his training on the British naval training vessel Conway in Liverpool, Jules served in the French navy for a short period before deciding to emigrate to Australia in 1879 on the Chimborazo from London. Read his letter on the eve of his departure.

In 1881 he married Agnes Lelia Ada Tait in Melbourne.

Jules Gilmore Jaunay of Reims,
13th inst. at "Willestrier" Richmond married Leila Ada Tait,
youngest daughter of George Tait,
late of Berwickshire, Edinburgh, Scotland.
He pursued several occupations such as insurance agent and book seller in Melbourne and Sydney and he retired to Toowoomba QLD after World War I.
